My mission

By harnessing my own deep bond with my horse of a lifetime, I strive to immortalise the unique connection between your pet or a horse with you.

Hi, I am Annukka and I am the face behind the camera at Saraste Photography. Having grown up in the beautiful Finnish countryside I was always able to indulge my passion in nature and animals. I now happily live in the UK where I have been delighted to meet so many warm and friendly people.

I am based in Hampshire but I photograph in Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire. I am happy to travel further away.

I love photographing pets and horses with their owners because I love photography and it makes me forget everything else in life, it's just me and my camera and my models. It's a place of escape but also my happy place.

I love dogs and cats but at the moment I can't have my own as my husband is allergic and our house is not really suitable for pets as is. So being able to photograph and meet so many pets is like a dream come true for me.

My own business has brought me so much happiness because I love what I do and seeing or hearing how happy my customers are after receiving their pictures and how much they love them just makes me feel so thankful and blessed.

One reason why I started this business is that I was devastated after losing my first pony a few years ago because I don't have any professionally taken pictures of her. Because of that I am so happy that this year I was able to take beautiful memories of my own horse Simppa, who is already a 16 year old Finnish Horse, first in a bluebell forest and a few weeks ago my friend took some more pictures of Simppa and I at the yard. I just chose the semi-automatic settings, gave her some instructions how to focus on me and the horse and I think she did amazing job! Thank you Tiffany!

More and more people just take pictures with their phones, and they disappear somewhere in the cloud. I want to fill people’s homes with artwork on their walls, desks and so on to remember and cherish those happy moments for years to come.
